Is there a supplement that can take the place of exercise? Not completely, in terms of its numerous health related benefits. However, because more than 50 percent of obese and overweight adults are do not exercise to improve their health, a new study suggests taking a certain vitamin can have similar heart related (cardiovascular) benefits comparable to regular exercise.


Research studies continue to dispel the myth that our genes control our risk of developing chronic disease, and the true significance lifestyle plays. A diet rich in vitamin C could cut risk progression by a third, of the leading cause of blindness, according to a study being published online.




And here’s another study that refutes the claim that vitamin C supplementation doesn’t affect your health. Researchers at Sweden’s Karolinska Institute found the results of a meta-analysis of studies found improved survival among women with breast cancer who had a higher intake of vitamin C from supplements or food sources. The findings were reported online on March 7, 2014 in the European Journal of Cancer.



Last week I shared with you one particular episode demonstrating how nutritional research can be distorted to suggest something other than it’s accurate findings. This week, we’re going to explore why vitamin supplementation is important.


A few evenings ago, during an interview on a major media outlet, I heard a noted physician and author state emphatically that people should not take vitamin supplements, because it is myth that they are beneficial! He went on to say there is no scientific proof that taking any type of nutritional supplement improves health, and in fact there are studies which indicate they are dangerous! I was stunned and speechless. I couldn’t believe my ears.
