As the saying goes, “Everything in moderation, including moderation,” is applicable to the recent large international study involving more than 135,000 people across five continents. It determined a diet which includes a moderate intake of fat and fruits and vegetables, and avoidance of high carbohydrates, is associated with lower risk of death.

Air pollution is a contributing factor to the development of several diseases, including heart disease, lung disease, strokes, prematurity, brain damage, kidney disease and diabetes. A new study determined a nutritional supplement can reduce air pollution induced tissue and organ damage.

High-fat diets have long been known to increase the risk for medical problems, including heart disease and stroke, but there is growing concern that diets high in fat might also increase the risk for depression and other psychiatric disorders.
